About AKCSSC
The All Kerala Computer Society Student Convention (AKCSSC) is an annual event by the IEEE Computer Society Kerala Chapter, uniting computer science students, professionals, and educators across Kerala. It fosters knowledge sharing, collaboration, and skill development through inspiring talks, technical workshops, and competitions. The tagline for AKCSSC 2024, "Aspire, Achieve, Accelerate," encourages participants to set ambitious goals and excel in technology.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of AKCSSC, celebrating a decade of innovation and networking. Former IEEE CSKS chairs will join for a special reunion, sharing insights and fostering connections between alumni and students. The event will feature panels, workshops, and retrospectives, honoring its legacy while inspiring future tech leaders.
Meet our host - Government Engineering College Kozhikode (GECK)
The IEEE Student Branch at Government Engineering College, Kozhikode (GECK), established in 2012, is a dynamic community focused on fostering professional growth and technical excellence among students. It organizes a variety of events, workshops, and competitions, covering topics like programming, software development, and emerging technologies, alongside webinars and interactive sessions on communication and business writing.
The branch also hosts the Computer Society Student Branch Chapter (CS SBC), which specializes in computer science-focused activities such as hackathons, coding competitions, and technical talks. This year, IEEE SB GECK proudly hosts AKCSSC 2024, themed "Aspire, Achieve, Accelerate," providing students across Kerala with opportunities to learn, network, and innovate. By offering mentorship and resources, IEEE SB GECK continues to inspire its members to excel in technology and engineering.
About IEEE Computer Society Kerala Chapter
The IEEE Computer Society, the world’s leading organization for computer science and technology, serves over 60,000 members globally, connecting a communiAt the heaty of researchers, educators, IT professionals, and students. Within this network, the IEEE Computer Society Kerala Chapter stands out, with 145 professional and 2,051 student members, earning recognition through awards like the IEEE CS(Global) Outstanding Chapter Award in 2018 and the Early Career Professionals Engagement Award in 2022.
Established in 1985 as part of the IEEE Kerala Section, the Kerala Chapter is now the largest Computer Society Chapter globally, comprising 48 Student Branch Chapters and 2,043 members as of 2023. It organizes impactful events like the All Kerala Computer Society Student Convention (AKCSSC) and the annual SlashKey hackathon, fostering collaboration and skill development. In 2022, it co-hosted TechX, a major event featuring workshops on technology and leadership.
The chapter’s success is driven by its dedicated volunteers, including many in IEEE leadership roles, and its outreach efforts, like the Student-Young Professionals team established in 2022. Through its commitment to community, innovation, and volunteerism, the Kerala Chapter has become a respected leader within IEEE, inspiring positive change in technology and beyond.
